Dilemma

Allow me to introduce my dilemma...

My 11 year old neighbor decided to feed this seemingly stray cat some milk...in my back yard! Now the cat seems to think that our home is his home!
OK, contrary to what my boys believe, I do not hate cats! They are just not my favorite. Manly Man is allergic and I have a feeling that at least one of my boys would be as well. I don't want an inside cat at all...liter boxes? No thanks.
The big problem is that this cat used to be some one's. That someone decided it would be a good idea to declaw the cat, front and back paws! And then let the cat out. He can't catch food. He can't defend himself. He can't climb a tree if he needs to! He is so scrawny. I feel like the humane thing to do is to feed it. But we all know what happens when you feed a stray. Manly Man and I are at a loss for what to do. Any ideas?

Some friends in my old 'hood just went through this...

They sent out an e-mail on the neighborhood yahoo group asking if anyone wanted to adopt it and also found out there was a local cat society that helps find homes for stray cats - they don't put any animals down like the ASPCA.

My family was notorious for taking in stray cats... I'd be more apt but Ben's allergic, too.=)

Drop it off in some random person's backyard (in a neighborhood across town). And as you drive home, smile to yourself as you think of what a kind and generous thing you've just done.

Miss you!

If the other two suggestions fail then take it to a human society they would find a good home for the cat!

I'm not a big fan of cats but I think the humane society is a good idea. I think they have a no kill policy. By the way, I like the new picture at the top.

Do you still have the cat around? Do you know if it's male or female? Hazel wants a cat! We are in Wilmington so you are not to far to travel to. Let me know, you can email me. Thanks!
